Documentation Archive

Founded with the mission of researching, documenting, and promoting understanding of the significant and often turbulent events that have shaped this area, the Center for Peace and Multi-Ethnic Cooperation has amassed a rich and invaluable archive. This collection includes several thousand original photographs, more than 400,000 authentic documents, and several thousand hours of video material, each piece a vivid testament to the events that have defined wartime and post-war periods from 1992 onward.

The Center’s archival efforts focus on capturing not only the large, defining moments of the conflict and its aftermath but also the nuanced, personal stories that have shaped the collective experience. This extensive documentation serves as a powerful resource for historians, scholars, journalists, and the public, offering a window into the lives and resilience of those impacted by conflict. By preserving these critical records, the Center seeks to promote reconciliation and educate future generations about the importance of peace and the complexities of multiethnic coexistence.

The goal is to build a bridge between past and present, using these documented memories as tools for understanding and transformation in communities both within Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond. PhD candidates and researchers are encouraged to reach out to us directly, as the Center offers its resources to support academic projects and collaborative studies aimed at furthering knowledge on the region's history and promoting peacebuilding initiatives. We welcome the opportunity to collaborate and contribute to scholarly work that fosters greater understanding and positive change.
