Days of Peace in Mostar: Promoting Peace, Education, and Reconciliation

The Network for Building Peace, United World College (UWC) Mostar, forumZFD in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Forum Civil Peace Service), the Local Democracy Agency Mostar (LDA Mostar), and the Center for Peace and Multi-Ethnic Cooperation from Mostar as participants, with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, are organizing the celebration of the International Day of Peace on September 21 and UWC Day on September 21.

As part of the event, the “Goran Bubalo Peace Award” will be presented, and the “Global Campaign for Peace Education” will be marked on September 20. Additionally, there will be educational activities, conferences, theater performances, and workshops attended by students from 72 different countries, as well as students from countries currently experiencing conflicts. The celebration will conclude with a rock concert for young people and all those who feel young at heart.

The first “Peace Conference” organized by UWC Mostar was held last year in Mostar, and the Days of Peace will provide another opportunity to promote peace and reconciliation within the country and the region, and to call upon decision-makers to resolve conflicts peacefully.

On this occasion, we bring together peace activists, educators, experts, trainers, and young activists.

We invite all representatives from formal and informal education sectors, civil society organizations, and all interested individuals to join us at the Days of Peace in Mostar.
